What is an Independent Travel Marketer (ITM)?

An ITM is the first rank after an individual contracts with TravAtlas as an Independent Travel Consultant (ITC) and purchasing the “Independent Travel Business System” (ITBS). An ITM is considered “new” to the travel industry and is restricted from participating in the booking process, offer quotes, and interact with vendors or supplier. An ITM is only authorized to market travel and refer all prospective customers to their assigned TravAtlas end consumer travel website. This allows the ITM to “earn while they learn” and generate income from travel commissions generated from automated or offline travel.

If an ITM has an interest to advance to higher ranks the ITM can purchase our generic Travel Agent Introductory training modules that will help educate the ITM to prepare for advancement to higher ranks and even recognized as entry level travel agent.

How to get started?

To get started as an ITC the candidate must first review and agree to TravAtlas terms and conditions, policies and procedures, refund policy, and commission payout. Next, the candidate can purchase the “Independent Travel Business System” (ITBS) that includes technology and support to initiate business as an ITM.

In order to advance to higher ranks each candidate must purchase the ITBS and submit the desired rank application for review along with additional $100 for background check and additional monthly fee based on rank.

ITBS Cost:

$299 (technology set up fee) + $49.95 (1st month service, back office and accounting fees)

Technology includes an ITM personalized end consumer GDS travel booking engine website and unique ID number to track all bookings and related commissions. The technology also includes ITM basic permission back office access for managing their business, basic training and commission reports.

An ITM simply refers all their relationships to their related travel website and any completed automated booking resulting in any commissionable transaction will result in ITM earning 50% of related commission the following pay period on TravAtlas has received the commission from the related vendor.

If an ITM generates non-automated inquiry, such as a group or customized package, then that quote request will be deemed a ”lead” and sent to the lead system. Each lead from any ITM will be assigned to a Travel Destination Specialist (TDS) who will do all the work on ITM behalf. If the lead results in a commission then the ITM will earn 30% and the booking TDS will earn 50% of any commission less any processing or other fees.
